Brand / Model: Thermo
Scientific / Nicolet IS50
The Thermo Scientific / Nicolet IS10 provides easy access to
dual source and triple detector optical, multiple on-board digitizer and
spectrometer data and control signals. It has the capacity to perform advanced
continuous scanning, step scanning and dual channel applications. The Vectra
series interferometer offers very good mirror position accuracy. The moving
mirror precise positioning is critical in determining the final signal-to-noise
ratio for experiments. Unlike conventional air-bearing and mechanical
interferometers, the Dynamic adjustment interferometer is virtually insensitive
to laboratory vibration and acoustic noise, making it the ideal choice for the
most sensitive and extremely demanding step-scanning experiments. It supports
amplitude modulation and time dependent step scanning spectroscopy.

Applications
• The progress of a reaction or a chromatography separation
course can be followed by experiments performed at certain time intervals and
by taking the IR spectrum.
• Provides useful information about solvent effects and
ionization balances. Biodiesel developments and tests (Glycerin, TAN, FAME,
Water) are made.
• Bioethanol studies, textile fiber characterization,
polymer structure determination and characterization are performed.
• Determination of Volatile Organic Compounds, Low molecular
mass hydrocarbons are determined.
• Agriculture, Food, Petroleum, adsorption / release,
corrosion, mass loss analyzes are made in solids and solvents.
• Sublimation, Oxidation / reduction, Thermal stability,
thermal decomposition tests are performed.
• Determination of oil and grease in water samples, Mineral
oil analysis (TAN, TBN, Oxidation, Nitration, Sulfation etc.)
• Film characterization, Protein structure determination,
Plasticizer Characterization.
