The opening speech of the signing ceremony was given by Public-University-Industry Cooperation Çorum Representative and Faculty Member Prof. Dr. İrfan Kurtbaş did it.

In his speech about the purpose, vision and mission of KUSI, Prof. Dr.İrfan Kurtbaş made a statement about the studies that have been done and will be done so far, and in his speech, mentioning that our university is doing studies that will set an example for Turkey in this sense. Prof. Dr. In his speech, Kurtbaş talked about the importance of public-industry cooperation and said: “As a country within the scope of KUSI, we are experiencing the excitement and pride of witnessing both the mental and physical transformation process. Public, University and Industry cooperation, which is described as the locomotive of technological transformations in developed and developing countries, has been one of the priority areas in our country for the last decade. This is a longing expected and proud situation. As it is known, Public-University-Industry Cooperation is a must for transition from a labor-intensive industry to a technology-intensive industry. Here, the existence of the public-university and industry or their strong structures within themselves does not mean anything by itself. As it is known, effective and sustainable cooperation of these trio contributes to social welfare. It is evident from experience that the sustainability of this cooperation depends on state and government policies. In this respect, the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology carries out its mission with great effort and enthusiasm, especially as the implementation and supervision unit of the state policy.

Çetin Başarahıncal, President of Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in his speech, "I express my respect and gratitude to all of you for accompanying a historic signing ceremony." he started saying.

Başarahıncal stated that they are doing great work for the cooperation of the public, industry and university and that they are making great efforts for HÜBTUAM. “Our entire university opened its doors to us. We have done exemplary works in Turkey. We have to take one more step every day. We are breaking a new ground in Turkey. We are just intermediaries. After that, it is up to our students, academics and industrialists. We work very hard with our university and our Rector Prof. Dr. I also thank Reha Metin Alkan for his sacrifice. " he spoke.

In his speech, İlknur İnam, General Manager of Science, Industry and Technology Ministry of Science and Technology said, “As the Ministry, Public Industry and University Cooperation (KÜSİ) is one of the issues that we attach great importance to. Our aim is to explain the ÇARGEG application as a sample application and to show this application as an example to other provinces, universities and industrialists. We want these studies to be transformed into corporate structures, not through personal efforts. We will do our best to spread it in our other universities. As the Ministry, when we go to our provinces, we look at it from a broad perspective. We carry out activities that touch universities and industrialists. " saying “Çorum is one of the leading provinces follower categories. If this private sector, the number of R&D centers can be increased and postgraduate theses can be made to solve the problems of industrialists, we can move Çorum's place to higher ranks. As the Ministry, we are always with you with the activities we carry out. We are open to all kinds of communication channels. I wish this cooperation to be beneficial to everyone. I thank everyone who contributed. The link between university and industry in Çorum looks much better than in other provinces. I believe that this belief and mutual trust will come to a much better point. " said.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan explained in his speech that the mission of universities is gradually changing as the needs increase, “The first standard that comes to mind when the university is mentioned is education. The process that started with the establishment of the first universities in the Islamic geography in the 9th century was dominated by this second generation model, the university model developed by Humbold. The German university model put forward by Humbold has focused on the understanding of "Science is for science" for a long time. In the 21st century, the changes in the needs and all the transformations in the society made it necessary to come to the agenda with different understandings and the understanding of the university called the 3rd generation university emerged. Major universities such as MIT, Harvard, and Stanford University are prime representatives of this approach. The understanding here is that Çorum has approximately 800 academicians, that is, Çorum has 800 scientific advisors. Turkey has nearly 200 thousand academicians, which means that Turkey has 200 thousand scientific advisors. There are currently 200 universities in Turkey, including the newly established ones, which means that Turkey has 200 R&D centers. If we deploy it that way. With the advantage of being new, we first did what big universities did years later. HÜBTUAM is our first new building. In this center, we supplied nearly 100 devices with an investment of 50-60 million and we had quality management trainings in Gebze while this building was being built. The main factor that transforms Silicon Valley into the world's R&D center is Stanford University, and this place has become the ruler of the world with universities. We are now speaking the same language with the Ministry. Expectations from our universities have changed. These are things that need to be thought through patiently and persistently. With this work, we strive to combine the knowledge and experience of our University, the opportunities provided by the state with the private sector and industry, and to find all kinds of opportunities, solutions and intermediate ways that will transform them into our welfare, especially with high value-added products. Our work is one of them. We have worked shoulder to shoulder with TSO so far. Our university and Çorum provided a good integration. I am sure we will come a long way. We are ready for this job. Although this agreement started as a pilot agreement for Turkey, we will make a good road together. Our support is full, as the University, we will always do our part. I believe that we will achieve good work from now on. " he finished his speech.

Çorum Governor Necmeddin Kılıç said, “Only one of the beautiful and special works done in Çorum is the work done today. Çorum is a dynamic province. It is one of the rare provinces in Turkey that has come to a place with its own efforts and internal dynamics. It is a province with a technology that can build factories in 41 countries of the world. It is a province that brings its industry somewhere and its national income is quite good. The savings amount, according to the central bank's data, is amazing. There is also internal capital in the province. As for the opportunities and beauties of the province, the enterprising spirit in human nature is very important. This continues. One strong argument we have is our university, that is, we have a serious brain accumulation. Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan is a great chance for Çorum. University-industry cooperation is at an exemplary level in Çorum. With such studies, Turkey will be the strongest state in the world in the near future. Çorum will move to the powerful Turkey of the future. " he finished his speech.

Following the completion of the speeches, our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan and President of Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Çetin Başarahıncal signed the Industry Focused Graduate Thesis Cooperation Protocol.

With the Industry Focused Postgraduate Thesis Collaboration Protocol, it is aimed to improve the cooperation between institutions within the scope of Public University Industry Cooperation (KÜSİ) in order to make graduate thesis students who are studying at the institutes within our university in line with the needs of the public and industry.
